Awesome All Around – AAA Concert in Singapore Report

Singapore is no stranger to concerts.

In recent years, we’ve been graced with the presence of many amazing J-Pop artistes in large-scaled concerts, such as a-nation last year which brought us megastars like Ayumi Hamasaki.

But it’s rare when we get a musical act that is as equally approachable and friendly as they are talented.

Such was the case with Attack All Around (better known as AAA)’s concert here in Singapore on the 4th April 2015.

From their first greetings at their media conference, it was evident that the group had one objective in mind: To have as much fun with their fans as possible.

Every member spoke vividly about their music career, which had reached its 10-year anniversary.

While they talked about their inspirations and aspirations for the future, the atmosphere remained light and fun with them cracking jokes (often at each other’s expense), attempting some English, and even asking the audience for suggestions on what Singaporean dishes to try.

During the concert itself, the energy levels were kept high with an endless stream of their various songs over the past 10 years.

From fast-paced tunes to sentimental compositions, every number was given the full AAA-treatment with accompanying dynamic dance moves and powerful vocals.

Amidst the high-octane excitement of the concert, the group shared many amusing anecdotes on their experiences in Singapore.

The group’s resident rapper, Mitsuhiro Hidaka’s description of how he tackled the task of eating black pepper crab proved to be especially entertaining (“Crab CRUSH!”).

Overcoming any language-barrier, every member was able to convey their feelings of gratitude for being able to perform in their first ever overseas concert with a mixture of Japanese, English and lots of laughter.

Their infectious enthusiasm permeated throughout the small venue, with every fan in the hall spontaneously singing, dancing, and responding to every moment.

If there was any qualm to be had however, it had to be that the show was over too soon.

Even after an encore of 3 additional songs, including their new hit ‘Wake Up’, the time to bid AAA farewell felt like it came far too quickly for many, with the parting feeling less like the end of a show and more like seeing off 7 terrific new friends you’ve just made.

It was safe to assume that no one left unsatisfied – and that no one was going to forget this experience any time soon!
